Esa Määttä
Finnish Mechanical Design Engineer
On these pages you can find some of numerous photographs I have taken. I do mechanics design work for which photographing offers good counter balance. There are no limits or constraints when working with a camera. Currently I have a Fujifilm HS-50. I chose not to have a DSLR since it requires lots of stuff to carry with me. HS-50 is pretty good compromise.
I do not take photographing too seriously. Many of my shots tend to show a small detail of an object, peculiar viewing angle or funny situation. I also take a lot of pictures with my mobilephone. A good quality picture is not important to me. Instead what the picture tells. The worst shaken shot can be the best of the whole trip!.
On left there are few pictures of metal works I have manufactured as hobby. Material for the horse head is 1mm aluminium sheet. It is painted with sand-effect paint. The flowers are made of steel sheet. Surfaces are textured, polished and finally laquered.
